Needless to say all bull riders want to get off and away once the 8 second buzzer sounds. That’s if the cowboy hasn’t already been bucked, bounced or slid off the bull’s sometimes loose hide. By the way, the skin of the bull is 7 times thicker than man’s. This dismount has already slung his opposite-side leg over the hump to catch air, landing in the other direction from the bull running. The weight of the bell helps pull off the cowboy's riggin.
